Accident in Gadsden County Causes Delays

Florida Highway Patrol says at about 12:30 Saturday afternoon, a vehicle traveling Eastbound struck two cars from behind.

FHP and Gadsden County deputies say the first collision caused both cars to spin, one vehicle spun over into the median and over turned several times until it came to a stop in the Westbound lanes.

The other vehicle rotated into the rear of a third car, then spun across the median and ended up in the Westbound lanes.

The third car was pushed off to the side of the Eastbound lane.

The driver of one of the vehicles identified as Kristian Hempel was med flighted to Tallahassee Memorial with serious injuries.

Five others were involved in the crash but were uninjured.

Traffic on I-10 heading Westbound was backed up for about three miles.
