The Florida Gator football team is in Arizona gearing up for the big one. But they're not the only ones ready for game-time, local gator fans are ready for the challenge. The one thing on their minds is beating the Buckeyes. Melanie Etters, a University of Florida Alumna, is getting ready for the big game. "I'm getting out my orange and blue and I'm getting my lucky football ready, and of course getting my son's orange and blue ready for school tomorrow. I'm just getting mentally prepared for the game."
Fans of the orange and blue like Ted Aiken say this year's success on the field is a little surprising. "It's been an exciting season. It's a lot more than any of the Gator fans expected going into the year and so many games have been close and down to the wire. It's just been a lot of excitement."
Some fans say living in Tallahassee can be tough when your a Gator fan, but when your team is the reigning national champions in basketball and has the chance to win it all in football showing that it's great to be a Florida Gator." David Roberts, the president of the "Capital Area Gator Club", says, "Our club motto is "civilization among the savages" and we never spare a moment when we can tease and lord over our fellow Seminoles."
Gator fans say they're confident that the boys of ole' florida can handle the ball and come out on top with a victory and another national championship.
