Three minutes and your time is up.
Leon County commissioners amended the Commission's Rule and Procedures for meetings, limiting the time a citizen can speak at meetings. It's now down to three minutes on agenda’d items, unless time is extended. It was previously six.
Commissioners say the change is not to restrict citizens from expressing their views, rather allow opportunity for more people to speak when there are a number of speaking requests.
The rule does not limit commissioner's speak time, but another rule will restrict commissioners from using cell phones on the dais.
