Red Cross says only four percent of Georgians give blood regularly...
and only one percent of African Americans in Georgia give blood on a regular basis.
Saturday the Red Cross collected blood at Bethel AME Church in Quitman... where one donor says it's a breeze to give.
Ronnie Avery comments, "They do a good job, there's no pain, very little pain. And I think they'll really enjoy the fact that they're saving lives."
More drives are set up for MLK day... Monday from ten to seven at the Valdosta Conor Center, from one to six at Berrien County Hospital in Nashville, Georgia, and from two to seven at the Lakeland United Methodist Church in Lakeland Georgia.
