Adoption Awareness Month

Updated: Sun 7:45 PM, Nov 23, 2003

It was a dream come true for some area kids as they found a new place to call home. Fourteen kids living with special needs were adopted Saturday during a ceremony at the Leon County courthouse.
Many of the kids were previously in foster care and were adopted by their foster parents. One couple adopted four kids and says it's one of the best decisions they've ever made. "It's awesome, it makes me feel like, it's the fulfillment of a dream for us,” said Mike Myers. “We've been working on this, this is an incredible day." Similar adoption ceremonies were held throughout the State of Florida and across the country as part of National Adoption Awareness Month.
