Some local students are hitting the books even on this beautiful Saturday.
Fourth graders at Tallahassee's Bond Elementary are brushing up on their long division, preparing for the big test.
For the next seven Saturdays struggling students will focus on math, reading, writing and science, dedicating an hour to each subject.
Karen Knowles-Garcia is teaching the students and say, "They are excited and even yesterday we met with them and a lot of them said they were coming, and they were true to their word, the showed up, because they too want to learn and excel on the test".
Staff at Bond Elementary encourage students to join the study group. The class with the most participants will get a pizza party.
Educators say a few other schools in the area are also holding a Saturday FCAT preparation class
