The Lowndes County Health Department is releasing information about a salmonella outbreak in that area that affected dozens of victims.
Health officials say 72 people were treated for the virus. Nineteen of them were hospitalized.
The cases were documented from August through November of 2006. They were only able to contact 52 of the victims, and of those, 43 stem from a specific restaurant.
Officials say the source was a meat cutter at the restaurant.
A worker confirms that the Arby's located at 2916 West Ashley Street in Lowndes County is the restaurant.
The meat cutter has been removed and the salmonella outbreak is no longer a threat.
