Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville is offering an arthritis class to help those living with the disease.
The goal is to teach sufferers how to manage their life and their arthritis on a daily basis.
Frances Parker, an instructor of the class, said, "People don't realize that there are a lot of things you can do to manage the arthritis. That you don't have to live in pain continuously."
Linda Fullerton, a registered nurse teaching the class, said, "If they can get their mind distracted by doing something as simple as naming birds or naming flowers, they're putting their mind to work and it's kind of blocking the pain sensations."
Classes are once a week for six weeks at Archbold. For more information on the arthritis class, call the marketing department at 229-228-2743.
