VSU's Chris Hatcher Headed to Georgia Southern

WCTV has confirmed that Valdosta State Head Football Coach Chris Hatcher has already accepted a job as Head Coach at Georgia Southern.

Hatcher, who led the VSU Blazers to back-to-back Division II National Championships will most likely be announced formally as the new Eagles Head Coach Friday afternoon.

The Georgia Southern position became available after Brian VanGorder left the program just one year into his contract. VanGorder was swayed by New Atlanta Falcons' Head Coach Bobby Petrino to become Linebackers Coach for the Falcons.

The Georgia Southern Eagles will return 17 starters from the 2006 squad that finished with a (3-8) record.
