One person is dead and most of a home burned in an early morning blaze. Arthur "Sport" Spence has died this morning following injuries he sustained from a house fire.
Around 4:05 this morning there was report of a single family home on Chaires Cross Road that caught fire. Fire officials from both the Chaires-Capitola Volunteer and Tallahassee Fire Departments responded to the call, but unfortunately 75 percent of the home was lost.
Again, the resident, known as Sport in the Chaires Community, Arthur Spence, has passed away from injuries he sustained in the blaze. He was in his late 80s. Eyewitness News crews are on the scene, and we'll have more on this story later in the day.
