TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - The state's unemployment rate was steady last month.
The Agency for Workforce Innovation reports that Florida's jobless rate remained at 3.3 percent in December, unchanged from November.
The December rate was also just over one percentage point lower than the national rate of four and a half percent.
Walton County in the Florida Panhandle reported the lowest unemployment rate at 2 percent while Madison County in north central Florida had the highest at seven percent.
Job growth, however, was positive for the entire year in Florida with 212, 600 new jobs. The almost three percent increase in new jobs nearly doubled the national average of 1.4 percent.
