A community is mourning as a Leon County man lost his life in a house fire.
It happened shortly after 4 a.m. this morning in the Chaires community.
Fire marshals are still investigating the cause of the blaze, which completely destroyed the home on Chaires Cross Road.
Family and friends of victim Arthur Spence are still in disbelief.
Spence, who was 79 years old, was known around town as 'Sport' and would sell peanuts from his recliner.
Spence was transferred to the hospital where he died. Spence's family says they plan to keep the man's familiar chair where it is as a tribute.
