A few area barbers opened their doors and hearts Saturday afternoon to help out Tallahassee's homeless. Barbers at the Intrinsik Style Barbershop on Railroad Avenue gave free haircuts to many of our area's homeless.
A few of the barbers thought it would be a good idea to spread a little holiday cheer by giving those who are less fortunate a new look and for some, a new lease on life.
"Homeless individuals are just like anyone of us. They're people just like any one else, they have feelings, they have families, they have children, and they have something to offer," said barber Shannon Booker with Intrinsik Style.
Along with a haircut, everyone was treated to free ice cream. The barbers say due to yesterday's success, they will continue to offer free haircuts to the homeless once every month.
