Blitz Build

Home for the holidays has a special meaning for three Valdosta families thanks to Habitat for Humanity. The non-profit organization is kicking off its annual holiday Blitz Build. Volunteers from all over the state are coming together to build three houses in just one week. The holiday blitz will complete the year-end goal of building 40 houses under the Jimmy Carter Work Project.

“These will be three and 4 bed homes, two bath about 1200 square feet so they’re not big ostentatious homes but they’re simple decent and most importantly they're affordable and they’re quality built, safe and secure,” said Gwendolyn Scott, the director of human resources and public relations for Habitat for Humanity.

Habitat for Humanity is still looking for volunteers for this weeklong project. No special skills are needed to help out. If you are interested, you can call Habitat for Humanity at 229-245-1330.
