How would you like to have your taxes filed for free?
The United Way of the Big Bend has launched the B.E.S.T. project, which stands for Believe, Earn, Save, and Thrive.
If you earn less than $39,000 a year and live in Leon, Gadsden, Liberty, Jefferson or Franklin County, you could receive free tax service by dialing 2-1-1.
"This gets you your tax return. It gets your tax refund in about a week, and it means that you don't have to pay those high interest rates for somebody who has been trying to get a hold of you," said Ken Armstrong, President of the United Way of the Big Bend.
This program is in its third year. Last year more than 600 people took advantage of the free tax filing service. If you think you qualify, just dial 2-1-1 for more information.
