The FAMU National Alumni Association is endorsing Dr. James Ammons as its choice for the top spot.
The current chancellor of North Carolina Central University seems to also have a lot of student support.
Ammons served as provost under former president Fred Humphries.
"The era of Humphries is regarded as the ‘golden era,’ so I can't see anything negative coming to light about that administration. All I see are positives from that administration," said FAMU junior Rondrea Mathis.
All three candidates, including Doctors Thelma Thompson and Howard Johnson, are scheduled for an interview with FAMU trustee members on Thursday, February 1.
