Families living on the south side of Tallahassee are getting more than gifts this Christmas. They're getting a second chance. Folks living at Leon Arms and Suakoko Apartments are gaining valuable advice from a woman on a mission.
Veronica Daniels is hosting her first Christmas festival, mentoring students from four area schools, helping instill tools for success with her grassroots program "Second Chance to Make First Impressions", an organization this graduate student is devoted to.
“I went to jail at 16, tried to kill myself at 19, I needed someone to say positive words to encourage me on an inspirational level,” said Daniels. Daniels spends her free time these days.
