Bethany Arms Benefit

Updated: Sun 10:00 PM, Dec 28, 2003

One local organization is using the power of good food to help raise funds for area kids. The Tallahassee Moose Lodge family center on Northwest Capitol circle, held a spaghetti dinner Saturday to raise funds for a new playground.

The playground will be located at the Bethany Arms Apartments, a place where homeless families stay rent-free for four months and where children have only an empty parking lot to play on.

"It just seemed like something worth while. Bethany arms is an apartment complex for homeless families with children, and our main charity is taking care of children, so we felt this was something to put our efforts into,” said Jerry Monk.

Monk says the spaghetti dinner is only a small step to making a big dream come true for families who stay at Bethany Arms.
