Little people with big hearts are sending goods overseas to the 160th MP Battalion.

Perry Primary School Librarian Tekecia McIntyre is currently serving with that battalion in Afghanistan. So Perry Primary students are packing care boxes to send to Afghanistan.

The K through second grade classes are taking turns to bring in books, games, stationery, and personal hygiene items for the soldiers.

The battalion's favorite request is Jolly Ranchers.

"It's a good thing for the soldiers and it's the right thing to do."

"It's a great thing for the troops who are not at home and are far away. It's a good learning experience for the students to help understand what our troops are doing and why they're doing it."

The school cannot afford to ship all of the boxes, so if you'd like to help, call Anne Sesock or Jack Palaio at Perry Primary at (850) 838-2506.
