In a press conference Friday afternoon, Katherine Harris declared her candidacy for the U.S. Senate, just not this year.
Even though many were disappointed by her decision, Harris made it clear that she has not ruled out a future run for the Senate.
"My decision may disappoint those who were looking forward to a horse race and the headlines always associated with contests that attract national attention. rest assured, all in good time," said Harris.
The republican, who gained fame during the 2000 presidential campaign, did say she plans to run for re-election to her seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
