There's an old African adage that says it takes a village to raise a child.
Gadsden County school administrators are calling on business members in their village to mentor children in the rural community.
School officials say children are making strides academically and with the help of mentors the kids will definitely have a brighter future in Gadsden County.
Reginald James said, "They've agreed to give release time to employees to get involved to the mentoring efforts in Gadsden County public schools, so this is not only they’re going to mentor as CEO and executives, but they're going to provide release time for their employees to mentor as well.”
Jack Peacock added, "We've got an opportunity to create a good positive perception. I am with the board of Gadsden County Chamber of Commerce. I am a product of the Gadsden County schools, and if I can do it, anybody can do it.
