In the coming months students in the western part of Gadsden County will be attending a brand new school.

West Gadsden High School has been under construction for several months now, and contractors say the facility is almost complete.

A toping off ceremony complete with a meal was the ideal way to thank workers for keeping the job on task.

Administrators say students are eager to walk the halls of the new school.

Rocky Pace said, "We can look across the street and have a constant visual as to what's going on. Of course, the down side as we see the walls going up to the roofs going on and the different activities it makes us want to move all the more sooner."

The 117,000 square foot facility will house students grades six through 12. The project is scheduled to be completed by mid-June.
