Saturday was the launch of the first "Community Knitting Project" held at the Progressive Center in Tallahassee. Folks came ready to work, knitting scarves, hats, and blankets. All of the crafty masterpieces are donated to Big Bend Hospice to help comfort those in need.
Chelsea Fox organized the "Community Knitting Project". "Hospice is a service that's provided to people who are dying and need comfort more than anything. There's something warm and cozy knowing that someone knit that for you."
Event organizers say they hope this "Community Knitting Project" will be the first of many.
