Folks were enjoying the beautiful art of dance by FAMU's Orchesis Contemporary Theater.
Students swept the stage in a variety of dances including African, Contemporary and Fusion.
The concert pays tribute to the history and tradition of dance performance on the FAMU campus.
Gaynell Sherrord is the Assistant Professor for the dance studio and said, "I think of it as an ambassador for the whole community, so people can see what's going on at the University level and it bridges the University with the community, it gives an opportunity to come out and see us and what we are doing."
Sherrod says the group is all volunteers, and the dancers perform about 15 shows per year.
This show was a tribute to Katherine Dunham, a woman known for promoting dance throughout the world.
