It was all part of "Operation Clean Sweep" sponsored by "Keep Tallahassee / Leon County Beautiful".
More than 40 groups of volunteers were cleaning up trash from the roads and working on beautification projects all around Tallahassee.
Students are creating a garden on Orange Avenue. The creation is named after a woman who volunteers a great deal of time and effort into keeping Tallahassee beautiful.
The garden is named after Edwina Stephens. Stephens says,
"It just brought a lot of joy to me that they would want to do something, name it for me, and I love the community and the neighborhood and the environment and beauty of it".
The program receives a $3,000 grant from the Home Depot to purchase tools, plants and equipment.
