Charges Dropped Against Tallahassee Police Officer

Assistant State Attorney Georgia Cappleman says there are still a few DUI cases pending in which Lofland was the investigating officer.

Cappleman says if Lofland was the only officer on scene and the only source of evidence in any of those cases, they will be dropped.

Official misconduct charges against a Tallahassee Police Officer have been dropped in exchange for her resignation.

Wednesday afternoon, a warrant was issued for Officer Holly Lofland.

The charges stem from a May 2007 DUI case in which Officer Lofland is accused of submitting reports that contained false statements.

Over the years, Lofland has received much acclaim for the thousands of DUI arrests she has made.

Assistant State Attorney Georgia Cappleman says the charges were dropped late this afternoon after Lofland agreed to resign and forfeit her law enforcement credentials.
