Valdosta State University police and administrators held an emergency response drill to prepare campus personnel for unexpected disasters, Thursday afternoon.
The drill included staff handling a mock riot on the VSU campus.
An incident command center, command post and emergency operations center were set up in three different rooms to simulate the event taking place.
"It's more of the ‘what if’ type of question. And we are more or less trying to get people trained for this because if you don't have the training, you can have a book that sits over in the corner that gathers dust, but you've actually got to keep up with what's going on," says VSU Police Chief Scott Donor.
Law enforcement officials from all over the state participated in the simulation.
