A community redevelopment area is an area that needs to be redeveloped for the good of the community.
Currently, Leon County and the city of Tallahassee have deemed Frenchtown as part of such a CRA, but now the city also wants to include downtown but the county says no way.
Tuesday night commissioners sounded hopeful that a compromise could be reached.
"I think we've made a lot of progress. I commend Commissioner Mustian; he's great to work with. The County has put out the three main issues," says Leon County Commissioner Tony Grippa.
"I'm happy to see a proposal from the County. I think we may be on to something here, and I hope it all works out," adds Tallahassee City Commissioner Mark Mustian.
The county compromise includes a 30-year time frame along with more control for the county. Once the vote is in the issue will go to the city.
