An elderly woman who lives in the Cherry Lake community says within in a matter of seconds, the tornado ripped off parts of the front porch.
The fierce winds carried sheets of plywood and metal from the porch several feet away to the backyard.
Doris Coody and her grandson tried to find a safe area in their home to weather the storm. "I said, ‘JD, I don't like this here’. I said, ‘get up and let’s get out of here’. So we went to the end of the house and by the time I said that he said ‘granny, the porch is done gone’ and I couldn't believe it."
The damage made it impossible for Coody to get out of the home. Her son is busy building a ramp and stairs to make her home accessible.
