Thunderstorms and high winds also roared through Hamilton County Florida.
The storms toppled trees in the rural county, blocking some roads and causing power outages as they fell against power lines.
The Hamilton County sheriff reports all power has since been restored.
Many residents say it was the worst weather they had experienced since the hurricanes of 2004.
"I've never seen the sky lit so much, so many times. A lot of wind I kept looking out the blinds making sure trees weren't falling on my house, just a lot of wind," says Jennings, FL resident Patricia Rowe.
There were no reported injuries in Hamilton County and all roads have now been cleared of fallen trees.
