Hearing Held on Proposed Power Lines

About 50 residents attended Wednesday night’s public meeting, taking the opportunity to share with the city commission, their concerns.

After taking those worries into consideration, commissioners decided to delay action for up to four months while they look for other options

"We have a critical need in order to maintain liability for these facilities to we can't delay this inevitably, but we're trying to do is make sure we recognize the communities issues and certainly the citizens issues," says Kevin Wailes, GM of Electric Utility.

The alternatives include putting the transmission line through the Miccosukee green way, or underground in some parts along Mahan.
