Fighting for what he believes in is nothing new for FAMU freshman Adrian Abner. Just ask the American Lung Association's Brenda Olsen.

Adrian started his battle against big tobacco several years ago and his dedication has paid off,” said Olsen.

Abner is one of 11 students nationwide to be selected to serve on a major youth advisory panel to reduce tobacco use.

“The tobacco industry sells a deadly product, that if used properly will kill you. It angers me that they are targeting my generation. It angers me to where I want to fight the tobacco industry,” said Abner.

As the former chairman of SWAT, students working against tobacco, Abner has seen how effective youth programs are. On the American Legacy Foundation Youth Advisory Panel, Abner will help convey the health risks of tobacco products to youth.
