Early Voting

Florida's Presidential Primary was once again made irrelevant with John Kerry's big win on Super Tuesday, but that hasn't stopped Tallahassee voters from heading to the polls.

Early voting began at the Leon County Courthouse on Monday. Despite the lack of an important Presidential Primary there's still a City-wide Referendum on the ballot. Election officials say they're pleased with the week's turnout, especially Saturday's participation.

“Today has been our best day yet. We've had over 250 voters so far which is always a great participation level because we have the families that come in so even if we've had a little rain it hasn't deterred the voters coming out today,” said Janet Olin, Assistant Supervisor of Elections.

A yes vote on the Referendum would consolidate all of the city elections in the fall. A no vote would result in a stand-alone City Commission election on February 3, months after the November general election.
