It's been more than two years since the September 11th attacks and Americans are still going above and beyond to pay tribute to law enforcement.
Saturday, Tallahassee area officers got a special treat. The Gate Gas Station on Blair Stone Road held its first ever Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Organizers say it's a new tradition they hope to continue year after year.
"I feel good about it, when I was young, growing up I kind of had things against the police officers but I got older and now I understand that they just do their job. They do what's necessary to make life better for everybody,” says Darian Fletcher, a Gate Store employee.
Gate Station employees cooked up many different dishes for the officers and their families. The event raised $284 for the Dale Green Foundation. Green was a Tallahassee police officer killed in the line of duty.
