Two lives were claimed in separate car accidents in the early morning hours on the Highways of south Georgia.

The Georgia Highway Patrol says around 2:30 Sunday morning, 28-year-old Lena Englehart of Pelham, Georgia lost control of her truck on a curve traveling east on Harmony Road. Englehart was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene.

Alcohol was not a factor in this accident and she was not wearing a seat belt. In Brooks County around 1:00 a.m., 47-year-old John Michael Weeks of Moultrie, Georgia was killed in a one-car accident, traveling north on Georgia 133. Reports are not yet complete in that accident.

State Troopers want to remind drivers to always take heed to road signs when driving unfamiliar highways and also watch for deer crossing late at night.
