Fatal Accident On Highway 90--UPDATE
The name of the man who died in a car crash on Highway 90 has been released.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers originally told our Eyewitness News reporter on the scene that the surviving driver's (the driver of the white SUV) last name is Perez. On the official press release, troopers list his name as Ramirez.

NARRATIVE:
V-1 was traveling South on NE Drew Way. V-2 was traveling West on U.S. 90 (State Road 10). V-1
attempted to turn left (East) on U.S. 90 and drove into the path of V-2. The front of V-2 struck the left side
of V-1. Both vehicles traveled off of the South side of the roadway and onto the grassy shoulder before
coming to final rest. V-1 came to final rest facing Northeast and V-2 came to final rest facing South.
The Madison County Sheriff's Office, Madison County EMS, and the Lee Fire Department also
responded to the scene.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say the victim of the crash near the Madison-Suwannee County line was 45-year-old Porcoro Ortega-Uolla of Jennings, Florida.

Ortega-Uolla was the driver of the Chevrolet pick-up truck. He was pronounced dead on the scene around 7:30 Thursday morning.

FHP says the driver of a black Chevrolet pick-up truck was trying to turn left onto Highway 90 eastbound from Drew Way but he failed to yield to a white Ford Explorer traveling on 90 westbound.

The front of the SUV ended up hitting the drivers side of the pick-up truck.

The driver of the truck was pronounced dead on the scene.

The other driver in the SUV was 39-year-old Tomas Pascual Perez He was taken to a hospital in Live Oak with minor injuries.

Troopers say there was no indication of impairment.

No charges are being filed because the driver who died was at fault.

They have not yet identified the victim.

We'll have more information as soon as it becomes available.

Florida Highway Patrol says there was a fatal car accident on Highway 90 at the Suwannee County and Madison County Line around 7:30 a.m Thursday morning.

Officials say roads are not blocked.

WCTV has a crew at the scene and will have more information as soon as it becomes available.

We have just learned there has been a car crash on Highway 90 East at the Suwannee County and Madison County Line.

The Florida Highway Patrol is on the way to the scene of the accident but they have not released any other information.

The driver that was killed was turning left from Drews rd on to 90 heading east. The driver of the suv was west bound on 90. That's why he hit the trucks driver door. There is not a yeild sign at Drews rd but a stop sign.

He was turning "onto" hwy 90 eastbound, not "on" which is in the article. You read it right, it just wasn't explained very well.

this one is a puzzel to me.It the truck was eastbount and had to give the right of way to the suv going west bound how did the suv hit the DRIVERS side ? If he was hit on the drivers side the suv must have crossed the center line before the truck tryed to turn
