More than 100 area residents crammed on to the steps of the Lowndes County Courthouse Saturday for a rally supporting President Obama's ongoing initiatives.
Attendees heard from citizen speakers about the president's stance hot button issues like health care.
Rally participants say they had many purposes for coming out.
"There's a lot of problems and hang ups that we need to solve and move on with and honestly he's got a good plan," said James Parker, a supporter of President Obama who also spoke at the rally.
This rally comes just days before Republican Congressman Jack Kingston is to hold a town hall meeting on health care in Clinch County.
Some area Republicans have been very vocal at the Congressman's previous meetings, voicing their disapproval of the President's universal health care plan.

Eva, FYI, WE do not go get these illegals and bring them here. There own people go get them and bring them here.
To Staci and others Illegal aliens should have some kind of health care because they are one who are working in the hot fields and making sure we have food to eat. As Christians, we should not want to see anybody suffer because they are trying to make a living. The jobs would not be taken by the illegal aliens if they Americans did not believe working in the fields is beneath them. We brought this situation on and we have to live with it. I do not understand how we go and get the illegal workers and bring them into the country, but we do not want to take care of them. They are in the same position as the slaves which were brought to America. Before anybody talk race, please understand therewere black and white slaves. in the SOUTH.
Staci, I don't think I have seen a better post. Congrats on your determination and new job. I wish you the best of luck!
