Folks gathered at the Walker Ford Community Center for the 25th Annual Black History Program.
In keeping with Sunday night’s theme, "building in strength through unity and truth”, a host of performances highlighted achievements of African Americans, both past and present.
"It makes me very proud to be black, and studying it and learning more about it as I come here every year. It's just a privilege," said Chanel Reddick.
"We must continue to keep our community informed as to the many contributions Blacks have made in our history. We don't want these things to be forgotten," adds Joe Walker of the Walker-Ford Community Center.
One of our own Eyewitness News reporters, Sherea Harris, served as Mistress of Ceremony for Friday night's program.
