A small cemetery in Greenville, Florida looks more like a landfill than a place to remember lost loved ones.

And some of those who call Madison county home, want something done about it.

As he stands above a grave stone, Greenville's Alex Brutwon remembers coming to this very graveyard for serenity as a young boy.

"I remember these people that I knew when I was a boy," says Alex Brutwon, who's lived in Greenville for 35 years.

But he was appalled when he moved back two years ago to find it in shambles.

Bottles, furniture, insulation and bones can be seen scattered across the pallbearers cemetery.

Some of the graves can be found but there's no telling how many more are hidden beneath the rubbish.

"I care because I'm going to pass one day and city officials are going to pass one day and do they want to have their families come visit them in something like this?" says Brutwon.

Madison County resident John Ovenden addressed County commissioners Wednesday afternoon asking why nothing has been done since the original complaint was made back in 2007.

"People should know that when they pay for a grave and get buried, that's what they're going to have for years to come. They're going to have a gravesite," says Madison County resident, John Ovenden.

While some commissioners don't believe it's the county's responsibility to maintain, Brutwon says above all that, it's the right thing to do.

Although their lives may be gone, these men believe those who have passed, deserve much more than this.

The lady told me that she wanted them to use some of that money to clean the graveyard and they never did. I'm not real clear on that but I'll find out. She has been trying to take care of this problem for a long time.

To Elmer and John, You all need to found out what happened to the money that the pallbeares associations earned during the time the timber was cut and sold from that cemetery. My father was a member of that pallbearers association they had to pay membership dues too. The money from the sell of timber would have purchased a nice fence!!! I will be at the clean up on saturday with my brothers in honor of my father!
