A college student is alive Thursday after Tallahassee firefighters saved his life.

Station Three responded to a call just after midnight Wednesday night to King Street. Firefighters say when they arrived the front of the duplex was completely engulfed in flames.

Firefighters Scott Simmons and Robert Ingram went into the burning house to search for occupants. They say the back room was locked they kicked it in and carried a young man out to safety.

Firefighters say he is doing fine, but the house is total loss. Investigators say they don't know yet what caused the fire.
