An autopsy conducted Saturday confirms the body found in a shallow grave behind a police officer's home was Antoinette Ross.
The cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest. The weapon was a 45 caliber handgun.
Neighbors led me into the woods to the spot where they say police found her body.
Glenna Parramore says on Thursday, she heard screams coming from the woods, and she'll never forget what they sounded like.
"Someone was getting seriously hurt or someone was dying pretty much and that's the kind of scream it was," said Parramore.
Ross was last seen alive Wednesday night when she got into a car with her ex boyfriend Lt. Barry Moore of the Chattahoochee Police Department.
On Friday, officers searched Moore's property and found Ross's body buried in the freshly dug grave.
Authorities are now examining the 45 caliber handgun issued to Lt. Moore by the Chattahoochee Police Department.
The say they're not sure if it's the murder weapon, but they're sure Ross was killed by a 45 caliber handgun.
Parramore said she's saddened and concerned that something like this happened so close to where she lives with her three children.
"It scares me," she said.
Authorities with the Gasden County Sherrif's Department said the investigation is still ongoing and they haven't ruled out the possibility that another person is involved in Antoinette Ross's death.

Antoinette Ross was last seen on Wednesday (10/21) night at her apartment in Quincy getting into the car of Barry Moore who is a Chattahoochee police officer. LT Moore is also the father of Ross' youngest child.
More than sixty volunteers combed through the woods of Chattahoochee Friday morning in search of Antoinette Ross.
But officers say it wasn't until her former boyfriend took his own life they realized they would likely not find her alive.
Witnesses say Moore had been waiting outside her apartment for Ross to get home and when she arrived, she willingly got into his patrol car.
That was at about 11:55 Wednesday night. A few hours later, two other Chattahoochee police officers saw Moore's patrol car near the Florida State Hospital Cemetery.
When Ross didn't come home, deputies knew the first place they should look, and it lead to another law enforcement officer.
"Anytime we're investigating one of our own it makes it extremely difficult because of the sensitivity and the nature of this investigation. But as we've told the family we've not ruled out anything and we're going to follow this until we bring them some closure," said LT Jim Corder, PIO with the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office.
Ross's family says it is out of character for her not to call her daughter or sisters and they knew something was wrong.
"Antoinette was a fun loving person. She loves her kids, she loves her job, she's just an all around person," said Jennifer Pollock, Ross's sister.
Deputies believe Ross's body is in a shallow grave behind Moore's home.
But this tragedy doesn't end there. Moore had been suspended indefinitely by the Chattahoochee Police Department during the investigation. While authorities were searching his property, he shot himself in the chest and died.
Moore was married to another woman but had a three-year-old child with Antoinette Ross.
Deputies say it could take hours before they dig up the shallow grave behind Moore's home.
We will continue to keep you updated as more information becomes available.
