Wine Festival

You don't have to be a wine connoisseur to enjoy the Florida Wine Festival. That's what hundreds of families found out Sunday as they played, stomped and sipped at this year's festival.

Wine, wine, glorious wine, whether you like yours full bodied or nice and dry, the best place to tantalize those taste buds is at the Florida Wine Festival.

Charlie Hood, a Tallahassee resident, said, “It's my birthday. I enjoy wine so here we are.”

For two years now, wineries have set up shop at the Mary Brogan Museum luring all types of locals with their flavorful selections.

Fred Webb of Sea Breeze Winery said, “This is the first time able to participate, glad to be here.”

If sipping wine doesn't sound fun, step outside, That's where the most eye-catching event took place. It may look funny, and believe me, it feels funny. The most popular event seemed to be the grape stomping.

Damon Miller, a FAMU football player, participated in the grape stomping. “You had to get juice in bucket. I think we got beat by the cheerleaders. I'm disappointed,” he said.

So are the raining champs, our very own WCTV team, who stomped like the pros but couldn't hold the title. Just as ironic as the FAMU football players losing to the FSU cheerleaders, WCTV lost to its competitors, Channel 27, WTXL. Guess will have to wait 'til next year for a rematch.
