A round table panel was held in Jasper today to discuss the approval of the biofuel plant in Hamilton County.

ADAGE is the name of the company developing this venture.

It will use wood waste, which includes manufacturing and wood processing wastes as fuel to produce electricity for about 40,000 homes.

The mayor of Jasper says it will benefit the community.

"It's a wonderful thing," said Ann Lessman, the mayor of Jasper, Florida. "I'm very excited for it to come. It's gonna give us a good opportunity for new jobs in the community. I think it's gonna be just a wonderful thing."

The plant will be located between the cities of Jasper and Jennings off I-75.

ADAGE expects to break ground next spring.

There is a french company planning to run Adage in Hamilton. Which part of this does the community not understand? Besides all of it. Based on hidden agreements and promises of jobs and revenue. The joke is on Hamilton brought to you by the state of florida agencies and Charlie Crist energy czars. Poor Jasper you will soon look like Perry a community that fails to thrive after a fifty year economic development. Just more of the same abject proverty is in the future. Leaders making decisions about things they do not understand effects or can not explain to citizens.

Good for them...isn't it amazing that these things are popping up all over the sotheast and the chance we had for one was shot down by politics. Tally could have easily found another area to put the plant....give me a break! Jobs...jobs....jobs...dont't worry about us, tally doesn't want em. We need better leaders that believe in taxing people with jobs instead of just taxing.
