New Psychology Building on FSU's Campus

Updated: Wed 5:42 PM, Mar 24, 2004

Over on FSU's campus, one of its oldest academic departments is about to come together under one roof for the first time in decades.

Wednesday ground was broken for the university's century-old psychology department.

Take a look at the last of the old Florida High building. Come this summer, the final bricks will come down and FSU's new psychology department will rise up.

At Wednesday's groundbreaking, president T.K. Wetherell says he's counting on the Legislature to help with the $49 million building.

The new facility will be housed next to another future building, the College of Medicine, but what has students psyched is not having their department scattered all over campus and Tallahassee.

President Wetherell says they expect the project to be completed in about a year and a half.
