Hundreds of students are working a little overtime this weekend. It's all brain power at the Second Annual Syrup City Academic Tournament in Cairo, Georgia.
44 teams from South Georgia and North Florida competed in the quiz bowl. Students in grades first through eighth have put recess on hold to get ready for the competition. "Some teams have been practicing since September of this year. Some teams haven't practiced quite as long but they have done a lot of preparation after school to get ready," says Cheryl Harrison, the Assistant Principal at Southside Elementary School.
Four to five hundred people were expected at the brain bowl... including family and friends cheering on their favorite star.
