Wildfire Concerns
The fall season brings a roller coaster of rainy weather and dry weather. It's always a good idea to be cautious of wildfire danger all year long.

Lots of rainfall this summer has reduced the area's drought level as well as the threat of wildfires.
Even so, we must still be cautious. . .
During the winter season, dry air tends to move in behind a cold front.
In many cases, if the humidity is low enough, a fire weather watch will go into effect and wildfires could start easily with one person's carelessness.
Gerry LaCavera, Florida Wildfire Mitigation Coordinator says, "The largest human cause of wildfires in Florida is escape debris burns, so anytime they're burning anything they really need to be careful, use a lot of vigilance, and don't let that burning pile or burning item that you're doing go unattended."
Forestry officials say it doesn't matter how green a plant may be. . . under the right conditions any plant can burn. Cleaning up any leaves or brush around your home now may help you in the long run when we experience a great risk for wildfires.
