On a scale of one to five with one being excellent and five being poor, he fell right in the middle at "okay."
An outside consultant interviewed each trustee, comparing Gainous' performance to 19 leadership expectations. Some weaknesses dealt with a lack of communication with board members and dealing with urgent situations such as the financial crisis or the hiring of essential administrators. However, they also stated strengths.
Dr. Gainous says he is committed to moving the university in a positive direction and sees this evaluation as a learning and growing experience
