A Goodyear challenge race car driver makes a pit stop for area students Thursday morning.
Students at Perry Primary, Taylor County Elementary and Middle Schools got to shake the hand of 18-year-old race car driver Justin Larson.
Larson spoke to the excited youngsters about behaving in school and staying drug-free, but the students say the best part was seeing and hearing number 88's engine roar.
Keistin Anderson, a first grader at Perry Primary School said, "I like it. I like the number on it. I like the color of it, too. I like to hear the sound of it."
Justin Larson said, "Like any athlete, they look up to them and I think they take their advice a little bit. For me to come here and talk to them and interact with them, I'm sure they really enjoy that and take it to heart."
Larson holds the title to seven National Championships and ten Grand National Championships. He'll be racing Saturday, April 7 in the Goodyear Challenge Series at the Bronson, Florida Motor Speedway.
