Dozens of U.S. War Veterans from Taylor County will forever be remembered for the sacrifices they made.

City officials are expanding Veteran's Memorial Park in Perry to add even more names of the war veterans from Taylor County.

The park was completed in 2007 with eight monuments already filled with 42 names on each side.

Now, foundations have been laid to put up four additional momuments.

Taylor County veteran Al Grubbs said, "A lot of visitors come here. They come to look up their dads, their granddads, their mothers, searching their names out. It's a real pleasure to know they're interested in it. We are going to have to keep expanding it if we keep having veterans and I'm sure we will."

Organizers hope to have the first additional monument up in six to eight months.

The park also has monuments for prisoners of war and those killed in action.

This is the most beautiful veteran's park that I have seen in the states. Keep up the good work by honoring those who have served this country. Be proud to have served for our freedon.

The park is a beautiful place to go and reflect on the sacrifices our military personnel and their families have made. Taylor county, you should be proud.
