Wildwood Country Club has requested a formal hearing so it can fight the proposed revocation of its liquor license.
This week, Wildwood General Manager Sue Ann Smith requested a formal hearing in front of an administrative law judge. Now the judge will review the facts and decide whether the country club violated state liquor laws by failing to disclose the financial interests of Sheriff David Harvey.
Harvey's wife, Rhonda, is one of the owners of the LLC that owns the country club and golf course.
On October 14th, DBPR's Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco found that Wildwood Country Club violated three state liquor laws and gave the club 21 days to respond. The club is now responding and is disputing the findings of fact and requesting a formal hearing.
Earlier this year, State Attorney Willie Meggs declined to press criminal charges against Sheriff David Harvey.

TO Timothy; Sir, I believe that Mr. Harvey was not wrongly accused of hitting and occupied vehicle and leaving the scene of the accident. I believe that people are upset with the fact that he did violate the law he is supposed to uphold and enforce. Since the accident, other incidents have been brought to light, such as this one, that puts the Sheriff's credibility up for further review. To date, the fact remains that there appears to be, yet, another violation of State law and it is not fabricated. So I believe that your call for State law enforcement agencies to halt their ignorant actions may be ignored.
